Energiecrisis, oppervlaktewatervervuiling, stikstofemissie; in deze dynamische tijd staat het bestaansrecht van de glastuinbouw onder druk. Verduurzaming is noodzaak. Op dit gebied speelt Koppert Cress een vooraanstaande rol in de tuinbouw. Echter, het bedrijf wil de komende jaren de volgende stap zetten en volledig emissieloos gaan telen. Het bedrijf zet daarom vol in op innovatie door samen te werken met veelbelovende startups en wil de rest van de sector inspireren dit voorbeeld te volgen. Daarom heeft Koppert Cress besloten haar duurzame innovaties onder te brengen in een nieuw bedrijf dat zich daar 100% op gaat richten: Division Q.

Samenvattend is het doel van Division Q om Koppert Cress emissieloos te laten telen dóór duurzame innovatie en vormt het bedrijf de toegangspoort tot de tuinbouw vóór duurzame innovaties.

Al vele jaren vormen duurzame innovaties een belangrijke pijler in het succes van glastuinbouwbedrijf Koppert Cress uit Monster. Het bedrijf hecht er veel waarde aan haar cressen en specialties voor de gastronomie zo duurzaam mogelijk te produceren. Zo was Koppert Cress één van de allereerste grootschalige gebruikers van LED-belichting en wordt op unieke wijze gebruikgemaakt van warmte- en koudeopslag, zonthermie en aquathermie. Ook opent het bedrijf graag haar deuren voor startups om te pionieren met hun nieuwe technieken in de kas. In 2016 leverde dit Koppert Cress al de Koning Willem I Plaquette op als duurzaamste bedrijf van Nederland in het MKB.

Voor de toekomst legt Koppert Cress de lat nog hoger. Naast de groei in de afzet van cressen en specialties, is verdere verduurzaming van het bedrijf expliciet onderdeel van het bedrijfsplan. In 2025 wil het bedrijf CO2-neutraal zijn, geen fossiele brandstoffen meer gebruiken en alleen nog maar schoon water lozen. Volledig emissieloos telen dus. Om deze doelstelling te behalen lanceert Koppert Cress een nieuw zusterbedrijf: Division Q.
