Agricultural greenhouses are key toward a sustainable food supply, however they have significant energetic needs due to heating and artificial lightening. There is a push from governments, retailers and consumers to reduce carbon footprint of greenhouses. Voltiris enables double-use of large greenhouses surfaces to produce electricity without impacting their high agricultural yield. Voltiris introduces a solar panel design to generate electricity from the part of sunlight's spectrum that is unused for crop growth.

Internship: Business Analyst

Location: The Hague, Netherlands (hybrid, 60% office presence required)
Duration: 6 months, full-time (100%)
Start date: As soon as possible
Potential: Looking for candidates interested in transitioning to a full-time position after the internship

Your mission

As a Business Analyst intern, you will join our Commercial Operations team in The Hague and work in a central role supporting our Sales Managers across different markets. You will be the person our commercial team relies on for the analytical backbone of every customer discussion.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building pre-feasibility studies for prospective customers: analysing grower energy consumption profiles, tariff structures, greenhouse characteristics, and site constraints to assess how our technology would perform on their operation

  • Modelling the economic case for each project, including energy savings, production impact, payback, and return on investment

  • Supporting Sales Managers throughout their customer discussions by preparing the quantitative inputs behind proposals, offers, and technical presentations

  • Working directly with our international Sales team, including our North America lead, to prepare analyses for customer meetings across different markets and time zones

  • Reviewing and validating customer-provided data, identifying inconsistencies or gaps, and going back to the source to make sure our analyses rest on solid inputs

  • Strengthening and standardising the analytical tools, models, and templates used by the commercial team, so that our work stays consistent and repeatable as the team grows

  • Documenting assumptions and methodology so that every number we put in front of a customer can be traced and defended

  • Contributing to market analysis and to the commercial insights that inform our go-to-market priorities

Profile we are looking for

  • Recently completed a degree in Engineering, Energy, Economics, Business, Agriculture, or a related quantitative field

  • Strong analytical mindset with genuine attention to detail: you would rather take an extra hour to get a number right than send out an approximation

  • Comfortable building and interrogating models in Excel; familiarity with Python, SQL, or data visualisation tools is a plus

  • Fluent with AI tools beyond basic chat use: you build your own prompts and workflows, automate repetitive analysis, and know when to trust an output and when to verify it

  • Rigorous and methodical way of working, with the discipline to document what you do

  • Curious and questioning: you are not satisfied with a result you cannot explain, and you speak up when something does not add up

  • Service-oriented: you enjoy being the person the commercial team turns to, and you are responsive to their needs and deadlines

  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment where scope evolves and processes are still being built, and motivated to help shape them

  • Fluent English required, both spoken and written

  • Dutch, German, or French is a plus

  • Strong interest in renewable energy, agritech, horticulture, and innovation

  • Experience or coursework in energy systems, techno-economic analysis, or horticulture is a strong plus

Education: Bachelor/Master/PhD. Languages: Deutsch (elementary), Englisch (fluent), Französisch (elementary)
