Agricultural greenhouses are key toward a sustainable food supply, however they have significant energetic needs due to heating and artificial lightening. There is a push from governments, retailers and consumers to reduce carbon footprint of greenhouses. Voltiris enables double-use of large greenhouses surfaces to produce electricity without impacting their high agricultural yield. Voltiris introduces a solar panel design to generate electricity from the part of sunlight's spectrum that is unused for crop growth.

The Role

Voltiris is looking for a reliable Installation & Maintenance Technician to own the on-site execution of our solar projects for industrial greenhouses, from kit delivery to commissioning. You apply our installation standards with discipline, catch deviations early, and hand over a fully validated, documented system every time.

You coordinate mechanical installers and electricians, control quality and safety at every step, and treat every installation as a chance to reinforce the process. Beyond installation, you monitor deployed solar projects via our online platform and lead corrective and preventive maintenance to keep them performing reliably. You are Voltiris' primary field representative, bridging engineering design and real-world implementation across multiple countries and sites.

This position can be based in Switzerland or the Netherlands.

What We're Offering

  • Full ownership of on-site execution, from site assessment to commissioning to handover

  • Direct coordination with mechanical installers, electricians, and the R&D/technical teams — your field observations feed back into product development

  • Autonomy to manage logistics, inventory, and multi-trade coordination across several simultaneous project sites

Hard Skills We Need

Project Preparation & Execution (core of the role)

  • Proven track record installing equipment in industrial greenhouses, photovoltaic solar systems, or other complex technical installations

  • Hands-on experience coordinating multiple activities (mechanical, electrical) on a single site

  • Conduct preliminary site assessments to verify technical readiness and resolve logistical constraints before installation begins

  • Ability to prepare technical components for greenhouses, and manage project-specific inventory so the field team is never delayed by missing parts

Quality & Commissioning Discipline

  • Experience with system commissioning, testing, and performance validation — verifying every component performs to spec before handover

  • Rigorous approach to quality control and to safety, sanitary, and regulatory compliance in industrial greenhouse environments

  • Ability to compile clean, structured "as-built" documentation and deliver technical training to clients and greenhouse managers

  • CFC (Swiss vocational certificate) in solar installation is an asset

Monitoring & Preventive Maintenance

  • Prior exposure to preventive maintenance programs and remote monitoring tools is a strong plus

  • Ability to monitor installations via an online platform, translate alerts into corrective on-site actions, and diagnose electrical/mechanical faults

  • Plan and supervise the yearly preventive maintenance campaign across the installed solar installation, with documentation of every intervention (parts used, system status) for traceability

Technical Literacy

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, structural diagrams, and equipment manuals

  • Strong problem-solving skills; comfortable working autonomously

Operational Capabilities

  • Valid driver's license;

  • Ability to work safely at heights

  • Significant geographic mobility across Europe for multi-day project assignments

  • Professional proficiency in English; French, Dutch, or German is a plus

What Success Looks Like After 12 Months

  • Installations across your sites are executed consistently to standard — low deviation rate, high repeatability, clean documentation

  • The preventive maintenance campaign runs on schedule across the full installed fleet, with traceable records for every intervention

  • You are the reference point for the field playbook — the person contractors, clients, and the engineering team count on

  • Your field observations have measurably strengthened installation standards over time

Why join us :

  • Sustainability: play a strong role in deploying a solution that brings decarbonized electricity to greenhouses

  • Strategic impact: take ownership of the field playbook that let Voltiris scale its technology to greenhouse worldwide

  • End-to-end ownership: see projects through from a warehouse kit to a functioning solar power plant

  • Dynamic environment: join collaborative, high-trust scale-up culture where field expertise informs product development

  • Fast-growing environment: grow with our installation scale-up, with clear paths for internal advancement as our international portfolio expands

If you have taken a project from kit to fully commissioned system, kept it clean and compliant every step of the way, and made sure it kept running long after handover — that is exactly what we want to hear about.
