We are Skytree
Skytree enables a transition to a world with cleaner Air for everyone. We do this by developing and deploying smart technology that captures atmospheric carbon dioxide, enabling its use or storage to combat climate change and aid society and businesses around the world.
Born out of the European Space Agency (ESA), we are a global team of highly talented scientists, engineers and business professionals, supported by an experienced management team. Our working culture is based on a dynamic and smart approach to business with an open and understanding attitude to others and a desire to expand the boundaries of what is possible.
As we enter a new phase of growth, we are looking for a Cloud Developer to continue on this journey with us.
Your role
At Skytree we have a Technology team - ranging from R&D up to Testing and everything in between - of around 60 talented individuals. One of those teams is the Software team, whose responsibility it is to ensure that our product is operable, that data and telemetry from our product are captured and sent to our cloud, and that our cloud handles this data and the various services provided to the company and our customers. While we’re still in the prototyping stage, soon our product will be commissioned at the customer's site. This will enable us to retrieve lots of valuable data - and thus insights - from the system operating at the customer’s site.
And that’s where this role sits! It’s your personal mission to develop and enforce robust operation and security frameworks across devices, networks, and cloud layers while collaborating with cross-functional teams - including edge, cloud, and web development - to align on solution architecture and integration. You will also lead the development of Web UIs, APIs, and data pipelines, ensuring seamless connectivity and user experience.
If you're passionate about cutting-edge technology, security, scalable design, and thrive in a dynamic scaleup environment where close collaboration and occasional wearing of multiple hats is encouraged, we’d love to hear from you!
You’ll make an impact by
Leading the development of software solutions for IoT cloud solution, Web UI & other dashboarding tools.
Implementing data analysis and anomaly detection frameworks, utilizing DAC system data, Azure ADX, Stream Analytics, and Grafana.
Developing & Bug Fixing with a hands-on approach: Contribute directly to Edge and Cloud computing solutions, ensuring seamless integration of sensor data and control interfaces.
Showcasing Software Architecture & Leadership: Design and oversee all software layers, including IoT Edge, IoT cloud, and Web UI, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
Making sure the Software is compliant: Develop and enforce robust security frameworks across device, network, and cloud layers.
Testing & Quality Assurance: Design and manage end-to-end testing for IoT edge and cloud systems, and Web UI validation.
Testing Environments & Automation: Set up testing environments and develop automated testing frameworks for continuous validation.
Working cross-functionally: Align solution architecture and integration with PLC, edge, data, cloud, and web development teams.
Offering mentorship & supporting growth: Guide and mentor team members in software development best practices, security, and emerging technologies.
By conducting technical reviews: Participate in technical reviews, ensuring alignment with business goals and fostering continuous improvement.
What we’re looking for
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience in designing and leading software architectures spanning PLC to Cloud integrations, Azure IoT Edge, cloud platforms, web dashboard portals, and other dashboarding tools such as Grafana.
Experience with Stream Analytics, Azure Data Explorer (ADX), and real-time telemetry processing.
Proven experience in setting up testing architecture and environments.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Azure, particularly Azure IoT Hub, DPS, Stream analytics, IoT Edge modules, and APIs.
Experience in C# development (preferred).
Experience in developing robust IoT & other software security frameworks and enforcing best practices made for scalability.
Familiarity with modern DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
AI fluency. You’re eager to make use of AI wherever possible (especially in the context of data analysis and automated deployments).
The ability to communicate across multi-disciplinary teams.
Natural leadership with which you’re able to mentor and inspire others.
What you can expect
Apart from working with great colleagues and a competitive package, you can also expect:
A unique start-up environment offering organic professional and personal growth at one of the most innovative cleantech companies of Europe!
A diverse (38+ nationalities) and fun team to work with.
Travel cost reimbursement.
Recharge with 25 vacation days, plus a little extra when life throws something special your way.
-
Enjoy the flexibility of hybrid work.
