Lead UI/UX Designer
Design
Maasdijk, Netherlands
We are building a new climate computer from the ground up, the control system growers rely on to manage temperature, humidity, irrigation, CO₂, lighting, energy and screens across their greenhouses. It is the single most important interface between a grower and their crop: a data-dense, high-stakes product that runs around the clock.
We are looking for a Lead UI/UX Designer to shape the full design process, from user research through interaction and visual design to a scalable design system, developer handoff, and post-launch iteration. You'll be the design lead on a new cross-functional team, helping set the standard for how our next-generation software looks and performs in the field. The product needs to be future-ready — modern today and able to evolve for years, including AI-assisted and predictive controls. It's a rare chance to help define a category-leading product used daily by professional growers worldwide.
What you'll do day to day
You'll partner closely with product managers, hardware and software engineers, agronomists, and customers. You'll move fluidly between talking to growers, sketching flows, building prototypes, testing designs with real users, and pairing with developers during implementation. You'll present your thinking, make the case for your design decisions with evidence, and iterate quickly based on feedback and field data — while keeping an eye on emerging tools and patterns that can push the product forward.
What we're looking for
These are the core things we hope you bring. If you're close on most of them and excited about the rest, we'd still love to hear from you.
- Experience & ownership: Around 6 years designing digital products end-to-end, with a portfolio of complex, data-rich or control/dashboard interfaces. Comfortable taking the full process — research, UX, UI, and design system — from start to finish.
- Full-stack design craft: Strong skills across user research, information architecture, interaction design, and polished, modern visual/UI design.
- Complex domains: Experience designing dashboards, monitoring tools, control systems, or other data-dense professional software.
- Tooling & technical fluency: Fluent with modern design tools, design systems, and interactive prototypes; open to AI-assisted workflows; understands front-end constraints and produces clean, buildable specs.
- Communication & language: You explain the 'why' behind your work and align stakeholders around a clear direction. Fluent English, and comfortable working with international customers and teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with SCADA, IoT, or industrial control interfaces.
- Background or interest in horticulture, agriculture, energy, climate, or sustainability.
- Familiarity with real-time data visualization and time-series graphing.
- Experience integrating AI, automation, or predictive features into a user interface.
- Experience setting up a design practice or design system on a new team or product.

- Meaningful work at the intersection of technology, sustainability, and horticulture.
