Motion Control & Robotics Engineer
Maassluis, Netherlands
As Motion Control & Robotics Engineer, you develop, integrate and deploy advanced robotic systems for greenhouse environments. You tune motion control algorithms, integrate motors, drives, sensors and embedded controllers, and make sure robot behaviour is safe and reliable in real production settings.
Your work does not stop at the lab door. You support pilot installations, commissioning and troubleshooting at customer sites, and translate what you learn in the field into better software, control and system design.
What will you do?
- Develop, implement and tune motion control algorithms for robotic subsystems and mobile platforms;
- Integrate motors, drives, sensors, actuators and embedded controllers into complete robotic systems;
- Work on robot behaviour, trajectory execution, synchronization and safe machine operation in production environments;
- Test, calibrate and validate motion systems in the lab and in the field, and support pilots and commissioning at customer sites;
- Translate field feedback into software, control and system-level improvements, and document control logic and test procedures.
Who are you?
You are a hands-on robotics engineer with a strong feel for how electromechanical systems behave in the real world. You take ownership, solve problems on the spot and enjoy the freedom and responsibility of a small multidisciplinary team.
In addition, you bring:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field;
- 3–5 years of experience in robotics, motion control, automation or mechatronic systems;
- A strong understanding of control loops, actuators, sensors and electromechanical system behaviour;
- Programming and scripting experience for robotics or automation, for example PLC or Python;
- Familiarity with ROS, kinematics, trajectory planning, machine safety or agricultural robotics is a plus.
What do we offer?
You will join an ambitious, multidisciplinary team where your work is directly visible in the field. You can also count on:
- A responsible and varied role with direct impact on a real product in the field;
- The opportunity to work on robotics technology that operates in commercial greenhouse environments;
- Short communication lines, room for initiative and a pragmatic, no-nonsense working environment;
- A pioneering role in a new Dutch team, with the opportunity to grow as the company scales;
- Good secondary employment conditions and room for personal and professional development.
About Ridder & MetoMotion
