Description

The HSE Leader full-time role ensures compliance with safety and environmental program requirements and creates an HSE culture that leads to zero harm to our employees and the environment. This position is the HSE functional expert and will work with, and through the management team to implement environmental, health, and safety requirements, ensuring that they are met through ownership and accountability by all employees. Identifies best practices and incorporates these into our standards. Travels to all Netafim USA sites to provide expertise, support, guidance, and oversight to HSE processes, including safety culture, environmental compliance, occupational health processes, social responsibility, and continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Leads implementation of HSE processes, including safety, industrial hygiene, environmental, and social responsibility programs among others as assigned.

• Works closely with leadership to ensure that HSE policies, procedures, and initiatives provide an efficient and effective safe work environment.

• Coordinates integration of HSE and other sustainability objectives, including those related to safety outside of manufacturing.

• Develops HSE training and ensures that aspects of HSE training are implemented accordingly, with a focus on building a culture of safety.

• Collects, compiles, and analyzes monthly HSE data/records from all facilities, including those related to safety.

• Provides regulatory and permitting expertise to assure appropriate permits and reporting mechanisms are in place to comply with federal, state, and local HSE regulations and corporate requirements, both within manufacturing and commercial activities.

• Leads the development of controls for identified hazards, both in manufacturing and the commercial sector, and coordinates the implementation of controls.

• Measures and evaluates the effectiveness of the hazard control system, policies, and procedures, promoting a culture of interdependency where all employees look out for each other's safety.

• Performs job site safety and environmental compliance audits across all areas of the business and tracks action items to completion.

• Leads all aspects of accident investigations across the organization, including incidents involving company vehicles, and tracks corrective actions to completion.

• Interfaces with other HSE Leaders for benchmarking to drive continuous improvement in HSE across all aspects of the business.

• Provides hands-on support to facilities regarding continuous improvement in HSE programs, fostering interdependence among team members.

• Owns Netafim’s ISO14000 system, working with co-owners to ensure compliance, both in manufacturing and commercial operations.

Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree preferred; or equivalent experience in Occupational Health and Safety.

3 years manufacturing, or related operations experience required, with a demonstrated ability to apply safety principles across commercial activities as well.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with a strong emphasis on fostering a culture of safety through effective communication.

SKILLS

Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required, with the ability to use these tools to drive safety culture improvements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to bend, reach, and lift boxes and office supplies up to 30lbs; some travel required, including travel related to safety assessments and culture development in commercial areas.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid driver’s license required, with a strong emphasis on safe driving practices.

OSHA certification(s) preferred, reflecting a commitment to safety across all aspects of the organization.
