The FlexNet Production & Material Logistics Manager is responsible for below activities.
Flexnet production: to plan, direct, or coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for safely manufacturing and storing FlexNet (collapsible pipe) products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications. This activity includes one connector weld line and one pipe fabric weld line.
Material Logistics: Extrusion and Flexnet raw material storage in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications includes receiving and issuing while managing inventory. Also responsible for internal recycling process which include washing line and 2 pelletizers to convert internal scrap to usable pallets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties as assigned.)
- Responsible for all KPI’s in the FlexNet & Material Logistics department
- Manage the activities of all the incoming raw materials products used in in the production for Flexnet and extrusion area. This is to include all external, internal resin, drippers & packaging.
- Oversee physical inventory management on raw material and responsible for any variances using Lean methodologies.
- Lead the shift teams. Set goals, collaborate with supervisors to assimilate work processes, recruit department employees, accompany and mentor the team.
- Responsible for the 24/7 ongoing operations of the Material Logistics and FlexNet departments & to provide technical support for equipment including Pelletizers, wash line along with FlexNet lines.
- Analyze performance and promote continuous improvements in accordance with department goals and prioritize tasks accordingly.
- Be an active partner on dept. engineering projects. Implement processes and upgrades.
- Manage the department’s internal and external interfaces (such as the planning dept, engineering team, product manager.)
- Lead the LEAN processes within the assigned departments.
- Assure attainment of business objectives and production schedules while ensuring product standards that will exceed our customers’ expectations.
- Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports Netafim’s strategic initiatives.
- Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction, both on a permanent and ad-hoc basis, depending on need.
- Encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact-based problem solving.
- Prepare annual budget, manage spending against budget, controlling spending in relation to changes in production volume.
- Work to establish management practices throughout assigned areas which include all employees’ positive involvement with opportunity for constructive input and action.
- Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety behaviors. Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas.
- Maintain personal skills and development by keeping up to date with latest production and production management concepts.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS/BA degree; business or technical field.
- Six plus years of management experience in a progressive production environment.
- Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Strong managerial and excellent communication skills are essential.
- Must be a self-motivated, result-oriented, and hands-on individual with the ability to see the big picture and develop a high-level, dynamic team.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Material Logistics Supervisor, Shift Leads, & Inventory Control specialist.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Excellent verbal and written in English.
SKILLS
Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email is required.
Negotiation and procurement skills desired
Knowledge of SAP platform will an advantage
Experience with quality management systems desired.
PHYSICAL
Potential for extended periods of standing/walking in and around the production facility.
Potential for long periods of sedentary computer data analysis.
Under some circumstances, will be required to provide support outside of regular business hours within a 24/7/365 production facility.
