Primary Purpose

The Project Installation Manager is responsible for all aspects of project execution, including subcontractor negotiations and oversight, material supply, scheduling and resource management, site safety, installation quality, system testing and commissioning, and adherence to established budgets. This role is also responsible for adherence to all local permitting, code and safety regulations to ensure seamless execution of awarded projects. This role is an essential part of our rapidly growing services and project management teams that will help us deliver exceptional results to clients. The successful candidate will possess the knowledge, experience, and confidence to engage and professionally interact with our commercial service experts and agronomists, the global Project Management Office (PMO), sourcing, finance, leadership and our customers in the process of building our business in this key strategic area.

Responsibilities

· Manage and oversee the installation of large-scale drip irrigation projects from initiation to close by interfacing with the design team during the conceptual stage, then taking full responsibility for all execution activities through commissioning and completion.

· Review design guidelines (basis of design) with the global projects team and client to verify the project will achieve desired customer outcomes.

· Using the design guidelines, interface with the commercial organization to identify the most appropriate Netafim dealers to execute the project and then work with the selected dealers to provide a detailed design, bill of materials, and price quotations for materials and installation.

· In close collaboration with the services leadership team, select the best design and subcontractor that will best meet the needs of the client, and oversee all subcontractor negotiations and legal contracts.

· Engage with all relevant utility and ancillary equipment suppliers to make sure that the site preparation and utilities are in place for successful project execution.

· Define and communicate all necessary project management plans, including scope, activity plans and sequence; then report regularly on progress, conformance with the original timeline and budget, and report any deviations from the original project plan.

· Establish project work programs and maintain management and control routines to include a deliverables list, project schedule, design stages, installation schedule, resource plan, budget, risk assessment and internal reporting.

· Create an organized workflow process and maintain all documents related to the project.

· Work closely with the selected subcontractor and Netafim planning team to schedule materials delivered to the site and ensure they are stored in a safe and secure manner, and within agreed budgets.

· Oversee the installation and engineering teams on site, and manage the onsite relationship with all subcontractors, balancing the need to maintain quality while simultaneously pushing the project forward to maintain timelines.

· Maintain the project schedule and assign resources as needed to maintain adherence to that schedule.

· Confirm installation per designs, drawings, and specifications including materials and assemblies, to include mainline piping, filtration, automation, valve assemblies, submains, air vents, in-field dripline and all related connections and accessories; confirm that the dripline has been installed to the proper depth and spacing within the soil.

· Troubleshoot design questions and field issues as they arise in order to not compromise system performance.

· Prepare and circulate progress reports internally and to the client on a regular basis.

· Proactively manage, minimize & escalate deviations from planned baselines that will have a major impacts on scope, schedule, risk or budget.

· Complete final inspection of system and ensure that necessary repairs are performed to Netafim’s satisfaction. Responsible for certification that the system has been built according to the agreed design.

· Ensure that all zones have been properly flushed and tested prior to turning the system over to the operations team.

· Train the Netafim operation and maintenance team to properly operate the system.

· Maintain best safety practices while on project sites and while executing day to day duties.

Requirements

Proficiencies-Competencies

· Bachelor’s Degree in production agriculture, agricultural business or equivalent experience.

· Extensive experience managing the installation of large scale agricultural drip irrigation systems.

· Familiarity with the design of drip irrigation systems, CID certification preferred.

· Experience installing and troubleshooting irrigation control automation.

· Outstanding computer skills (MS Office required)

· Thoughtful and effective communicator.

· Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse work group, as well as independently with minimal supervision.

· Attention to detail, quality orientation, and strong organizational skills.

· Daily travel to project sites required.
