Robotic Software Engineer

In the Robotic Application Software Development department, we develop software that helps automate dairy farms. We are working on a range of products, like mobile robots and our milking robot. We are looking for an engineer to strengthen our manure robot team.
As a Robotics Software Engineer, you are responsible for the development and maintenance of our automated farming solutions including control technologies for our feeding robots. You work in a multidisciplinary team, composed of software engineers and testers but also data engineers, and system/mechanical/electronics engineers, depending on the project.
You help translate requirements to a solid software design. You play a proactive role in designing, improving, and guarding the software architecture. Are you the experienced engineer we are looking for?
Your main responsibilities are:
- Designing, implementing, and testing of the robotic software.
- Design, plan and conduct real-world experiments i.e our workshops and Lely test farms.
- Optimizing data structures and algorithms used in production plus improving and maintenance of the current codebase.
- Ensuring quality control based on design, code reviews, unit and integration testing, test automation.
- Contributing to the Agile work process by setting targets, reporting on progress, and managing risks and threats.
- Develop novel robotics algorithms with collaboration and input from our multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
