- Supporting the ongoing development of Horizon, Lely’s farm management solution, that is deployed to 10s of thousands of dairy farms across the globe
- Obtaining and maintaining an in-depth understanding of dairy farm business processes
- Implementing new features and maintaining the existing code base
- Improving the overall architecture of the Horizon application by for example modularization
- Identifying performance bottlenecks and implementing performance improvements
- Guaranteeing high code quality by for example performing code reviews and implementing unit tests
- Providing technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship
- Participating in detailed project planning and design reviews
- Translating functional requirements into technical requirements
- Identifying and disseminating “best practice” in development and maintenance of applications and systems
- Writing technical documentation on implemented features and APIs
